In 1979 a fishing boat dragged a warplane from a depth of two hundred and seventy meters and deposited it on a shallow bottom near Tarragona. There it was said that at the end of the Spanish Civil War, during a raid on the city, a Legion Condor twin-engine nicknamed the “GRANUJA” had been shot down. The terrible memories of the bombings during that conflict returned to the memory of those who witnessed the events. But the process of documenting and identifying the submerged aircraft led to a surprising conclusion and forced a new line of investigation. What does Robert Capa do in the resolution of this story? Were those submerged remains really those of the “GRANUJA”?
