Tarragona, end of the dictatorship. A group of gay people decide to rent an apartment in the Old Town to love themselves in freedom. Not far away, a girl is threatened with a shotgun by her lover’s father, a civil guard who every afternoon spies on the footsteps of her lesbian daughter. We are in the age of the “law of vagrants and thugs.” To love depends on who is considered a crime. At the same time, the first gay bars open their doors in the city. The gangs come together, setting up clandestine outings to Barcelona. And if not, the party is set up at home. Quim, Carla, Fina, Pa txitxa, Toñi, Sendo, Edu, Gelo, Núria, Ció, Dani and Manolo are the twelve protagonists of this documentary that explores the LGBTIQ + life of Tarragona during the late Franco regime and the beginning of the transition. Under the watchful eye of the owls, these characters travel through a city that is sometimes dead, sometimes secret, always with hidden blows. “Tarragona was a party if you put it together.” Tender and sometimes shocking testimonies because the party is also synonymous with liberation and fullness. A tribute to twelve people who laid the first stone of our liberties.
