19th of May, 1939. Franco’s army celebrates the triumph with a spectacular cavalcade in the center of Madrid. Meanwhile, Spanish republicans go into exile.
A tragedy that explodes in July of 1936 with a military coup that followed the turbulent years of the Second Republic. For nearly a thousand days, Spanish Civil War spreads all over the country. The numbers are terrifying: more than 100.000 soldiers dead in the front, almost 200.000 civilians murdered in the rearguard and an unknown number of victims resulting from the bombings of villages and cities. An impressive documentary made with the digitization and restoration of archive footage from the “Filmoteca Española”. For the first time in history we can see Spanish Civil War as we have never seen it before: in color.
